IPMA certified a management system for IT projects of Sberbank

On January 19, 2011 International association of project management (International Project Management Association) confirmed with delivery of the certificate compliance of a management system for IT projects of Sberbank of Russia to international standards. The contribution to this success was made also by specialists of Proyektnaya PRAKTIKA Group.

The Sberbank of Russia is the largest bank of the Russian Federation and the CIS. Founded in 1841, the Sberbank of Russia is the modern universal bank satisfying the needs of different customer groups for a broad spectrum of banking services today. Sberbank occupies the largest share in deposit market and is the main creditor of the Russian economy.

Within the last two years Sberbank intensively and fruitfully worked in the direction of creation and development of a project management system.

In June, 2010 process of complex audit of a project management system in information technology field, according to the international standard ISO 17021 was started. Results of this work were highly appreciated by the international commission of IPMA.

Before certification passing specialists of Proyektnaya PRAKTIKA Group, together with the staff of the Russian Association of project management of SOVNET, booked audit of a current status of a management system for IT projects and developed recommendations about improvement of a management system and preparation for certification of IPMA. Solutions on control objects, organizational and role structure, management processes, development of information support of IT project management of Sberbank were developed.

The appreciation of the international commission became result of works of specialists of Sberbank on improvement of a corporate system of IT project management. The certificate of conformity was handed to the President, the Chairman of the board of Sberbank German Gref.

Important point in improvement of a project management system of Sberbank is personnel training according to the training programs corresponding to the international level, including requirements of IPMA.

The main provider of training in project management and the partner of the corporate university of Sberbank is Proyektnaya PRAKTIKA Group. For several years of cooperation by training center more than 1500 project management specialists in all territorial and subsidiary banks of Sberbank in Russia and abroad were trained.

Certification of IPMA testifies to capability of Sberbank to execute national and international projects at the high level, and should promote improving competitiveness of bank.
