2025: Creating DSS with a Unified Analytical and Management Reporting System
NAG The company jointly GlowByte built data warehouse with a unified system of analytical and management reporting. The solution is implemented open source using tools and self-service system. In the FineBI near future, it will replace the reporting tool used in the company. 1C GlowByte announced this on August 6, 2025.
This approach allows you to centralize the process of accumulating historical data and form a single slice of business key figures and presenting data in the form of BI visualizations. This improves the efficiency of both reporting and the use of data for prompt decision-making, which, in turn, enhances the company's adaptability to modern market challenges and its competitiveness.
In addition, having the opportunity to quickly track all sales indicators in terms of products, categories of goods, divisions and managers, the business also solved the problem of effective management of the staff and increasing their motivation.
The storage data is implemented in a cluster, Kubernetes as used database management systems , flexible PostgreSQL planning and management of complex data processing processes provides. Airflow The latest version of FineBI 6.1 was deployed on the basis of such a technological stack, as well as server FineBI licensing: thanks to flexible technology for scaling resources and containerization, it was possible to achieve ease of installation management and conveniently fit the analytical function into the overall Kubernetes landscape.
Another architectural solution from GlowByte was the use of the Data Build GlowByte (DBT) open source framework, which reduced the time-to-market when developing new streams of ETL processes in the data warehouse. In addition, the process of loading and synchronizing data from 1C to FineBI was set up using the Denwick data extractor.
With the help of these tools, the processes of loading data sources and forming storefronts were implemented, an interactive dashboard "Sales Formula" was created to visualize qualitative indicators by period. Thanks to this approach, the system displays current data - sales and comparative analysis by period in various slices, including for each manager.
| The pilot project was an important milestone in the development of NAG's analytical maturity. The GlowByte team did not just implement the tool - we laid the foundation for a reporting system that is open and understandable to the business. Thanks to the technical capabilities of FineBI, it turned out to be a lively, interactive analytics, freed from the limitations of Excel static and long changes in 1C. The implementation of the comprehensive sales report showed that BI for NAG is not just about data and figures, it is the speed of decision-making, control over key indicators. The new system helps both management and managers move confidently towards financial goals. Moreover, now NAG has all the tools for scaling and developing self-service, so the completed project not only provided a specific result for the business, but gave rise to the growth of a full-fledged analytical function within the company, said Alexander Brezhnev, Head of Sales Practice, Business Intelligence, GlowByte.
