2025: 121.5 thousand Jaguar Land Rover cars found to be defective

In mid-August 2025, Jaguar Land Rover announced the recall of approximately 121.5 thousand cars due to a serious suspension defect. An identified marriage in certain situations can impair handling, thereby increasing the risk of a traffic accident.

Range Rover and Range Rover Sport cars of the 2014-2017 model range fall under the recall program. The problem stems from front swivel fists made by Taiwanese component supplier SuperAlloy Industrial (SAI). Cracks can form in defective elements, the size of which increases over time due to environmental factors. As a result, this can cause the upper suspension arm to detach completely. The notification of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration USA (NHTSA) says that with sharp maneuvers, a defect can provoke accidents.

In total, the marriage affects 121,509 SUVs. Of these, 54,720 are Range Rovers, the rest are Range Rover Sport. Owners of recalled cars must visit authorized dealerships, where specialists will inspect the suspension elements for cracks. If they are found, free replacement of defective components with new ones will be carried out.

Earlier, Jaguar Land Rover announced the recall of 21 thousand Range Rover Evoque crossovers of the 2021-2025 model range. These cars were found to have a problem with the front passenger airbag. There is a possibility of its rupture when triggered, which reduces the effectiveness of protection in the event of a collision and can result in injuries for people in the cabin of the vehicle. The recalled cars were produced between July 10, 2020 and October 7, 2024.[1]
