DraftSight

According to the company, since June, 2010 and until now the free beta of DraftSight was loaded by more than 400 thousand users worldwide. The official version of DraftSight was optimized taking into account responses and wishes of users received for beta testing time and is available to downloading on the website draftsight.com. The solution DraftSight supports such operating systems as Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, Mac OS (beta), and allows to create, edit and browse files in the DWG format.

Among improvements of the official version: the free support of the interface of application programs – gives the chance to write additional programs for DraftSight to C ++ and other supported programming languages; localization undressed Reference – now hints are available in several languages (Russian, English, German, French, Japanese, simplified and classical Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish, Korean, Polish, Czech); optimization of management of variables – gives the chance to set and change the variable systems directly from the command line.

"We submitted to the public the beta of DraftSight in June, 2010, and the decision was hotly made by engineers and specialists in the field of a CAD. Many forces were put in implementation of this project and also in its improvement during beta testing, – Aaron Kelly, the director of DraftSight, Dassault Systèmes told. – The numerous user feedback allowed us to improve considerably the official version of DraftSight and to make it even more convenient and productive".

Users of DraftSight can select one of different options of support – from free "Support of community" (Community Support) to the paid Premium Services assuming support by phone and e-mail, network licensing and access to interfaces of application programs of DraftSight. Besides, it is provided and the "Premium packet for educational institutions" (Education Premium Service) developed especially for teachers and including training materials "The educational room" (Classroom) and Campus, network licensing, support by phone and by e-mail was reported in Dassault Systèmes.

Along with release of DraftSight, Dassault Systèmes started open online community – the first social network created by engineers for engineers, designers and architects. Associates get not only service support, but also an opportunity to interact with each other, to exchange the ideas, to share expert opinion and experience and also to participate in open development of DraftSight, says Dassault Systèmes.

The community DraftSight is created on the innovation platform for social networks SwYm (See What You Mean) and gives to users a set of opportunities of PLM online environment 2.0: it is information saturated profiles, blogs, micro blogs, iQuestions, Wiki, information exchange environments (data, audio, video and even 3D - files), update handler functions of the status and many other things. All this is available within a single user-friendly interface that allows to optimize and simplify process of interaction of users online, emphasized in Dassault Systèmes.
