Otto Group Russia starts operation of new IT infrastructure

R-Style completed an implementation project of new infrastructure of a production system, network and construction of modern DPC in Otto Group Russia

Tasks

Project objective - design and installation of the systems of a data processing center, upgrade of network infrastructure of OTTO Group Russia, creation otkazo-and katastrofo-stable system of data storage.

Terms and implementation

Project duration, since development of the design estimates and finishing with delivery of a system in operation, made 4 months. Within the project examination and upgrade of IT infrastructure, installation and setup of storage systems, the server hardware, creation of DPC is conducted.

Names

In the project the hardware platform of HP, APC, Cisco, a conditioning system of ECSO, Lindner raised floors was used.

Details

The project implements the solution providing in the long term performance improvement and scaling of a system without significant additional investments:

• the failsafe network infrastructure based on the equipment Cisco meeting all requirements of providing IT services of OTTO Group Russia.
• DWH based on HP of EVA meeting the growing business needs of customer company and providing the stable growth of the company for several years ahead
• The DPC meeting all standards of reliable placement of the server hardware.

Opinion

As Ivan Altukhov, the head of department of system administration and technical support of OTTO Group Russia noted, strategic objectives of the project - formation of a modern corporate information system, need to provide an optimal ratio of performance and finance costs and also implementation of the technologies corresponding to a number of technical requirements, such as support of several operating systems, high level of flexibility of scalability and fault tolerance. Implementation in Otto Group Russia of the latest IT technologies will promote further increase in investment attractiveness of business, further increase in effective management of the company and its development. Experience of implementation of this project proves that at the correct approach, use of the advanced techniques and technologies it is possible to implement the required solution in short terms.
