2025: Implementation of Storage-based DSS

On August 22, 2025, ARGO.TECH announced the introduction of DSS based on the STORAGE software complex in the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).

According to the statement of ARGO.TECH representatives, the storage system based on the STORAGE software has demonstrated performance more than 2 times higher than similar solutions. According to them, this result was made possible thanks to the Storage Node Appliance approach - it is a ready-to-use, tested and optimized node, with full compatibility of the STORAGE by ARGO.TECH storage software complex and equipment.

The STORAGE software package made it possible to collect in a single system a useful volume of 1.1 PB (petabytes, which is equivalent to more than a million gigabytes), designed for backing up the USC server infrastructure through Veeam Backup.

The system configuration includes a pool of HDDs (hard drives) with SSD cache (SSDs that provide high data access speed) using Fibre Channel (a high-speed network standard for data transfer), which provided USC with high data processing speed and reliability. And the use of multi-path resource access technology has shown excellent data transfer rates.

During the implementation process, ARGO.TECH specialists eliminated the difficulties associated with an error in the QLogic FC adapter driver, which caused cyclic reboots. After the customer contacted the developer and sent a memory dump (a snapshot of the system state at the time of the error), the ARGO.TECH team quickly developed a patch (update to correct the error) that fixes this problem. An enhanced monitoring update was also provided, allowing USC specialists to track key system indicators in real time.

As of August 2025, the system is stable, coping with the workloads of both backup and virtual environments. The implementation of this solution was an important step in improving the efficiency and reliability of the USC IT infrastructure, opening up opportunities for further development and implementation of technologies, concluded in ARGO.TECH.
