The state committee of the Pskov region on transport and communication held an expanded meeting on implementation of satellite navigation technologies based on a system for the benefit of social and economic development of the Pskov region, reported on the website of Administration of the region. Representatives of Management of information technologies of Administration of the region, executive authorities of area, local government authorities, Managements of traffic police of the Department of Internal Affairs in the Pskov region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia of the Pskov region and the federal network operator Navigation-Information Systems (NIS) participated in a meeting.
The associate director of project management department of NIS Dmitry Petrov told about opportunities of interaction of departmental and industry navigation satellite systems based on GLONASS and also their integration into uniform regional navigation and information infrastructure.
According to the results of a meeting the decision to prepare and submit for consideration in Administration of the Pskov region the draft of the regional long-term target program of implementation of satellite navigation technologies based on GLONASS system is made. It is entrusted to State committee of the Pskov region on transport and communication to carry out work on the document in interaction with NIS within 1 quarter 2011.
Earlier, the governor of the Pskov region Andrey Turchak signed the agreement on interaction and cooperation between Administration of the Pskov region and the federal network operator within creation and development of the regional navigation system based on technologies of the GLONASS global navigation satellite system integrated into the Russian and international navigation information space. In particular, within joint work in the Pskov region are going to implement a management system for passenger transport on the basis of GLONASS.
