Axoft protects demozone with Ideco NGFW

2025: Completion of Ideco NGFW transition

Axoft has completed a project to migrate its own demozone from Check Point to the Russian Ideco NGFW firewall. The introduction of the product will increase the information security of the company's demozones, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, optimize the network infrastructure, including reducing the burden on it, implement centralized management and the ability to integrate with Russian solutions. Axoft announced this on August 27, 2025.

The pilot project, the purpose of which is to test the operation of the solution in "combat" conditions without risking the main network, was implemented by the Axoft technical team and took place in several stages. At the first, a demozone was prepared and a solution was deployed with installation options: a virtual machine and a hardware gateway. Next, the basic configuration of the product, including security policies, was implemented, integration with Active Directory was carried out for user authentication. At the next stage, the functionality was tested, the results were evaluated according to the criteria of performance, safety, ease of management.

As a result of piloting, the Ideco NGFW solution was recommended for commissioning. The Axoft technical team has deployed the system in a full-scale, full-time deployment, migrating and monitoring the solution. As a result of the demozone, the company received a secure network with centralized threat management.

We completed the import substitution project within the framework of our demozone, implementing the migration from Check Point to the Russian solution NGFW Ideco. This replacement will allow us to provide our partners and their customers, as well as vendors, with distributed access to demozone resources, strengthen its protection by connecting two-factor authentication, accelerate the response of the network information security department to providing access to both company engineers and external customers, and quickly solve internal incidents, "commented Stanislav Forever, Head of Network Security and Audit at Axoft.
