2025: Connecting an Additional Second Backbone Link
SpaceWeb connected an additional second trunk communication channel from the Transroute operator to its own network and launched peering through the PiterIX Internet traffic exchange point. Now the company has two independent protected links with redundancy. Updating the network allows you to direct traffic along the shortest route to the client, and if one channel fails, the second will instantly take on the full load. SpaceWeb announced this on August 28, 2025.
| As of August 2025, SpaceWeb's main communication channel is diversified - we already have two independent operators connected. Both channels are protected from DDoS attacks, and traffic is distributed according to the principle of the shortest route for the client, which gives a minimum response time. Now the stability of the network is higher, the answer for customers is faster and the dependence on one provider is less, "said Yuri Usoltsev, head of the technical department of SpaceWeb. |
Connecting a traffic exchange point to an additional location allows you to bypass unnecessary intermediate networks, and traffic connected to the points from providers is sent directly to SpaceWeb hosting systems.
This reduces costs and provides a faster response - sites and web services open faster, and customer resources work stably without delays and are protected from interruptions. The peer-to-peer point contains communication nodes in 15 regions of Russia, and the throughput reaches 14.5 Tbit/s.
