Emerson Smart Solutions

Product
Developers: Vertiv (before Emerson Network Power)
Date of the premiere of the system: March, 2011
Technology: Data processing centers are technologies for DPC

The Emerson Network Power company, business division of Emerson company, announced in March, 2011 release of family of the intelligent integrated Smart Solutions systems for data processing centers. The solutions Smart Solutions integrate in themselves advanced technologies and industry practice for a possibility of cost-efficient performance management, efficiency and availability and also free interaction of the systems differing in the high speed of deployment, capability of adaptation to changes and potential for cost reduction, says Emerson. In this line, in particular, the solutions SmartRow, SmartMod and SmartAisle which show the principles of work of all products Smart Solutions are presented.

So, SmartRow is an independent infrastructure of DPC with several racks which supports connection of IT loading with a total power up to 20 kW. The built-in systems of a power supply, cooling, infrastructure management and fire extinguishing are its part. Thanks to the compactness this system will help to reduce initial costs approximately by 10%; it can also cut down the forthcoming expenses on the electric power on 30%, claim in Emerson.

In turn, SmartMod is the intellectual integrated infrastructure differing in the high speed of deployment. It can be used in addition to the existing system or as independent remote DPC, or as the center of postdisaster recovery. Unlike the container systems, infrastructure of SmartMod can be the most different capacity and adapts to data processing centers with the most widespread density without damage of readiness, emphasized in Emerson.

Thanks to the linear infrastructure the solution SmartAisle can increase efficiency and flexibility of the new and existing DPCs. According to Emerson, the simplified modular design of SmartAisle will help to reduce equipment expenses, to optimize use of the existing infrastructure, to release excess capacity and to reduce electricity consumption by 30%.

Solutions are on sale worldwide. Time of release and existence of products will depend on the region, reported in Emerson.
