2025: Product Development

The Russian technology company Baikal Electronics has begun developing a specialized BE-AI1000 processor designed to efficiently perform computing tasks in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The new chip is a complex system-on-a-chip optimized for faster processing of large amounts of data and execution of deep learning algorithms. Information about the project is posted on the state portal of industrial information at the end of August 2025.

The maximum operating frequency of the new processor is 3.2 GHz, which provides high performance for solving specialized design tasks. The device is equipped with modern energy efficient memory such as HBM3E up to 512 gigabytes with a bandwidth of up to 2 terabytes per second.

Processor BE-AI1000

The BE-AI1000 architecture includes support for modern I/O standards, including PCI Express 5.0 with up to 120 data links. The processor also supports USB 3.0 and a high-speed Ethernet network interface with a data transfer rate of 10 gigabits per second.

The power consumption of the device is about 200 watts, which is the best indicator for processors of this performance class. The chip is made using electron beam etching technology, which provides high accuracy of creating trace elements on a crystal.

The processor is made in a compact QFN case with a size of 55 by 55 millimeters with a total number of contact terminals 1738. This configuration provides efficient placement of the device in server systems and specialized data processing equipment.[1]
