2025: Construction Begins
Cloud X received a positive opinion from the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia on the design documentation of the data processing center in the Irkutsk region, which paves the way for the construction of the first hyperscale data center in Russia, originally designed taking into account the needs of artificial intelligence services and cloud technologies. The object "Data Processing Center of the Irkutsk Region No. 1" went through the procedure of non-state examination of design documentation and the results of engineering surveys, which allows you to start implementing an ambitious project. This became known on September 22, 2025.
According to RBC, Sergei Ivanov, chief expert of the Service of the Main Experts of the Project on Cultural Heritage and Engineering Infrastructure of Glavgosexpertiza of Russia, noted the active work of the customer when performing the examination. According to him, representatives of the company promptly responded to comments, clarified decisions and carried out the necessary calculations.
Cloud X CEO Denis Khleborodov emphasized the uniqueness of the project as the first hyperscale data center in Russia. According to him, this class of facilities imposes increased requirements for a structured cable system, power supply and energy efficiency.
The architecture of the center provides support for various cooling scenarios, which allows you to ensure stable operation of high-density computing loads and flexibly adapt to customer tasks. This configuration is critical for hosting modern AI clusters and supercomputers.
The scale of the project is impressive - the area of the land plot will be more than 155 thousand square meters, and the total area of the designed buildings and structures will exceed 95 thousand square meters. Such dimensions will allow you to accommodate significant computing power.[1]
