According to specialists of Qualys company, the existing firewalls for web applications do not meet requirements imposed to the systems of security in a cloud. Qualys says that they realized the alternative vision of technologies of firewalls of new generation in own with the solution with the open code.

Project participants of IronBee intend to create the most modern mechanism of the analysis of HTTP traffic which will have necessary portability at deployment in different environments and the modularity allowing all participants to enter an own contribution to common cause without spending time for thorough studying of all parts.

At first sight the serious challenge is thrown down to the industry which still staked on development of private technologies. According to in Qualys, present proprietary firewalls for web applications not only manage too expensive, but also are forced to bear on themselves an excessive load of security of all variety of the existing DBMS, applications, legacy systems and browsers.

Transfer of this model in a cloud not only reduces the security level, but also limits freedom of clients who can have serious difficulties upon transition to the alternative systems of other suppliers.

"In the conditions of further distribution of cloud computing and web applications becomes obvious that any company is not able to cope with all types of the attacks to which we are exposed today — the director of Qualys Philip Kurto emphasized. — For this reason we with enthusiasm started project implementation with the open code IronBee within which we have an opportunity to use when developing the firewall for a cloud experience of all community. We hope that the variety of the applied rules will help us to organize effective counteraction to cyber attacks".^[1]

Qualys already about a year conducts preliminary works, and so far the first version of IronBee is ready for 40-50%. It is expected that users will be able to get acquainted with the firewall for Web servers in the third or fourth quarter.
