RainStor 4.5
The RainStor systems are intended for the organization of storages of structured data on network devices and focused generally on problems of online transaction processing (OLTP), storage of magazines of actions of users and metadata. Telecom operators which are obliged to save data on communication sessions, contents of text messages and many other continuously arriving data face similar tasks, for example.
RainStor 4.5 makes intra columnar deduplication of data thanks to what, according to in the company, the total amount of the stored data can be reduced by 95%. The repeating fragments of data (for example, the addresses URL), remain in a system only once, and other records are supplied only with links to the main copy. Unlike the relational DBMS optimized for search of separate records, RainStor analyzes data before preserving and places the data connected among themselves in large blocks which can be taken quickly from base.
