2025: Official Platform Launch

Workton, a freelance platform integrated directly into Telegram, announced its official launch on October 1, 2025. The platform team is distributed across several countries, and the company itself is based in Israel.

The service is designed for freelancers from the CIS countries, where Telegram is actively used as a working environment, as well as for international customers, primarily from the web3, IT and game development spheres.

Workton founder Ilya Polotsky, graduate USU and serial entrepreneur with more than than 13 years of experience in IT, expects that the platform will be able to take at least 10% market of freelancers in Telegram in the CIS in the future for 3 years.

As of October 2025, together with Polotsky, the platform is being developed by a team of experienced designers and lawyers, as well as former partner and head of technology practice at KPMG in Russia and the CIS Nikolai Legkodimov and practice director Sergei Vikharev. The company moves on its own with attracted small angel investments in the amount of $40 thousand and at the beginning of winter 2025 expects another round of $400 thousand.

Traditional platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr and Freelancer.com cover 90 million users who work with mainly through web interfaces, use bank payments and charge fees to both freelancers and customers.

Workton - an alternative platform that solves key problems of traditional freelance exchanges, offering users everything they need to work directly on Telegram: secure deals using smart contracts, instant payments to the USDT, reliable copyright protection through blockchain and convenient communication in familiar chats.

Built-in artificial intelligence helps customers formulate tasks and makes it easier to start work, reducing preparation time and reducing the entry barrier for new Customers place their tasks through a convenient mini-application where registration is not required - everything is inside the messenger ecosystem, after which freelancers respond and join the usual chat in Telegram, and the process is controlled by the guarantor bot.

After the work is completed, the contractor instantly receives payment in USDT, and the customer - exclusive rights and a certificate, while in case of cancellation of the task frozen the funds are returned to the customer with the simultaneous protection of the freelancer's copyright. Workton uses a commission model, charging 9% from a successful deal. The commission is taken from the customer, while the freelancer receives the full cost of the work.

The target audience of the platform is formed through referral and ambassador programs. In general, the demand for such a simple service is confirmed by the unprecedentedly low cost of attracting. Today freelancer registration and customers cost the platform $0.31 and $0.61 per user, respectively.

Workton team released basic functionality and launched on mainnet (working blockchain network where real transactions occur and are recorded). It proved the operability of the concept and gave the first real metrics - the first thousand users, successful projects, registered customer rights and instant payments to freelancers.

One development strategy is to join (integrate or complete absorption) of telegram channels for freelancers. This complements the investment the attractiveness of the project, since the costs are not spent on product development, but directly to expand the monetization funnel.

The platform also develops support for all interaction scenarios between customers and freelancers. In the near future, creating an API for connection AI agents standing between freelancer and customer to automate routine processes on both sides. Workton will allow freelancers to create themselves, sell or rent agents who can speed up task times on 50%, while the freelancer will need almost only to bring to the grocery readiness task so that the customer can immediately use the product.

Freelancers will have access to generative AI models that leave behind the person creative process and decision-making.
