2025: Shutdown due to massive cyber attack

On October 2, 2025, Latvian state websites were subjected to a massive DDoS attack. As a result, there were failures in the operation of many Internet resources of the country's e-government.

The incident was reported by the Latvian State Center for Radio and Television (LVRTC). Due to the DDoS attack, the website of the vid.gov.lv State Revenue Service, the Latvija.lv platform, the website of the mk.gov.lv Cabinet of Ministers, as well as some resources of ministries, local governments and other state institutions were unavailable. In addition, there were interruptions in the work of the Latvian service for signing electronic documents eparaksts.lv.
