HP moved in "clouds"

Announced HP creation of a global cloud platform which will become a basis as for corporate, and mass services. For the "cloud" market the company enters fight against Amazon and Google.

The CEO of Hewlett-Packard Leo Apotheker betrayed ideals of the former head of the company Mark Hurd, having submitted the new platform of cloud computing. This event puts the company in conditions of tough competitive struggle with Amazon and Google.

In addition to offers of infrastructure as - services (IaaS) the HP company also submitted the "cloud" platform for consumers, small and medium business, corporate applications.

The former head of HP always with big scepticism spoke of cloud computing


"We will provide the uniform open area which will integrate consumers, the enterprises and developers of services", - Leo told. This platform will include app store, tools for developers, support and services for corporate users.

HP does not report how soon final "cloud" services will appear in the market, but Apoteker introduced them as opened providing support to a set of languages of development and held for use any software maker in advance. "We will only browse applications regarding security and compatibility of platforms", - he told.

So far it is not clear whether HP will be able to attract developers to the new platform and to excite consumers and developers in the same vein, as competitors - Google and Amazon.com.

Stocks of HP did not rise after leaving of the Hard, and, on the contrary, decreased according to the Standard & Poor 500 index approximately by 17% and financial analysts wish to know whether really Apoteker has what will display the company forward.

While technology companies Google and Apple on the basis of the success in consumer market observed profit increase, the HP company looked for a hit of sales recently.

Last month she announced emergence of the TouchPad HP tablet which enters the market of the dominating iPad devices from Apple. The debut of this device developed on the basis of the software of WebOS which HP purchased in 2009 together with Palm will take place, as expected, in June.
