Expert Logistic WMS manages a warehouse of elite cosmetics

The results of implementation of WMS-cistema on a distributive warehouse of Laima-Lux Group company, - the sole distributor of professional cosmetic brands for territories of Russia, Latvia and Lithuania are summed up. The company founded in 1997 in Riga by the famous singer Laima Vaikule successfully works more than a decade at the Russian market, every year steadily and surely broadening the sphere of the activity.

In a warehouse with a total area of 1100 sq.m dense storage of a large number of goods, generally small-pieces group is organized. Before automation in a warehouse assembly according to papers of the orders consisting of a set of small units of visually identical cosmetic products practiced resulted in a significant amount of errors. Introduced errors were opened later, during inventory and in customer complaints. System implementation of management of a warehouse had to provide the maximum accuracy of a complete set of orders and independence of expert knowledge of the employees executing acceptance and placement of goods in a warehouse.

System implementation of management of the warehouse "Expert Logistic" was performed by developer company IT Scan. During the project engineering of business processes of a warehouse, integration with the corporate accounting system of 1C were executed, training and testing of personnel of a warehouse is made.

"Based on several months of operation of a system it is possible to tell surely that tasks which we set for ourselves at the beginning of the project - are reached. Thanks to implementation of WMS we received full control and traffic control of goods in a warehouse in real time and at last left from dependence in expert knowledge of personnel.

Earlier we spent long time for training of each new employee and besides lost it in case of dismissal. Now training of the new employee takes 1-2 days. Attracting for a complete inventory on a warehouse additional human resources, we spend for their training only several minutes. People quickly master methods of work with a data collection terminal and further just follow the instructions WMS.

With system implementation not only all warehouse business processes were standardized, but also the reference book of goods in the ERP system is brought to perfect condition. On the basis of the new reporting reflecting relevant dynamics of load of a warehouse and performance of the warehouse/change/employee the schedule system is improved that allowed to reduce significantly amount of peak loads on a warehouse.

We reached the high accuracy of accomplishment of warehouse transactions, not only in assembly of orders, but also in inventory. Function of accumulation of global statistics on actions of personnel in a warehouse became great advantage for us. Any action of personnel is always reflected in a system. We can instantly lift the history of assembly and shipment of the order on a requisition number. An opportunity to render the qualified services of safe custody to the third-party companies became one more bonus of automation.

Currently in a warehouse we use both static, and dynamic storage. Different groups of goods are at the same time processed by different logistic methods of rotation of loads in a warehouse. For example, for the bulk of goods the FIFO method taking into account batches of deliveries, and for pharmaceutical products – FEFO is used to provide control of expiration dates.

Summing up the result, one may say, that implementation of the WMS system became the major step on the way of improvement of warehouse business processes and increase in efficiency of Laima-Lux Group. Today we guarantee not only quality of our products, compliance to international standards, but also the high level of customer service".
