"The brown Bear" implemented the warehouse management system Warehouse Management Suite

IT Scan automated a distributive warehouse of the equipment and component parts for computer and telephone networks. The warehouse management system Warehouse Management Suite is implemented.

In 2009 Brown Bear planned moving for the new warehouse equipped with the modern rack and hoisting-and-transport equipment to communications with what there was a need for system implementation of management of a warehouse which had to provide a fast and exact complete set of orders at a large number of visually similar nomenclature goods items. Initially, the option of development of WMS by own efforts since the company has strong IT department and experience of implementation of complex information systems was considered. But after the analysis of the Russian market of WMS the decision was made that it is more rational to execute automation of a warehouse based on professional IT solution from the external developer.

The main selection terms of WMS were the level of basic functionality of a system, a possibility of independent entering of additional modifications into the code of the program and scalability of a system at expansion or topology change of an object. More than ten systems, from presented at the Russian market were considered. As a result, the warehouse management system Warehouse Management Suite based on 1C as the most full meeting the stated requirements became the winner of the tender. As the contractor the IT Scan company, being the system developer and having successful experience of automation of warehouses of electronic components acted.

The task of project implementation as soon as possible on condition of active participation of employees of IT department "A brown bear" at key stages of the project was set for the Contractor. During the project works which are carried out on jointly to the express implementation technique developed by specialists of both companies tuning of basic system configuration under business processes of a warehouse of the Customer was performed, bilateral data exchange with a corporate information system is implemented.

At the beginning of February, 2009 the act of acceptance of works on implementation of WMS was signed. The personnel of a warehouse are equipped with radio-frequency data collection terminals. A system in real time manages a warehouse on tasks to contractors, transactions acceptance, placement, replenishment, selection and shipment are automated.

Successful experience of Brown Bear allows to consider the express implementations format as effective approach to system implementation of management on warehouses with standard logic of work.
