The IT Scan company implemented a system Proxima Warehouse of WMS in the CU Galaktika

IT Scan company, Galaktika (Ryazan) announces a successful completion of the project of complex upgrade of a warehouse (logistic design, implementation of a professional warehouse management system Proxima Warehouse) of retail chain stores.

The Galaktika company is steadily developing retail network, and today consists of 13 specialized self-service shops selling household chemicals, cosmetics and perfumery. The range of retail chain stores Galaktika contains more than 10,000 positions. The company is an official distributor of many domestic and foreign manufacturers (Concern Kalina, the Nevsky cosmetics, ARNEST, Kolgate-Palmoliv, Eviap, Manhattan, L'oreale, Mabeline, MaxFactor, Bourgeois and others).

Having made the decision on upgrade of a warehouse and implementation of the WMS system the management of the CU Galaktika, expected to reach, first of all, the new level of service on a complete set and shipment of goods, to increase the speed and accuracy of order processing.

Specialists of the company integrator executed a full range of works on logistic design and further automation of a warehouse and also carried out integration with a corporate information system of the customer (1C of version 7.7) that allows to unload information on goods with a complex of parameters necessary for optimization algorithms.

Integrated management of all chain of processes in a warehouse on the basis of automatic calculation of the tasks arriving on radio-frequency data collection terminals of employees (20 at the same time working shipping documentations) is at the moment exercised. The automated acceptance control, management of placement, feed of zones of selection of boxed and small-pieces orders and also selection of goods taking into account such parameters as ABC-XYZ the analysis, volume and weight characteristics, a commodity group, packaging type is executed. During management of shipment there is a management of placement and selection of a transport container according to packing lists.

Work with cosmetics and household chemicals has a number of features, similar warehouses are characterized by a large number of active articles and high intensity of warehouse transactions that defines increased requirements to system performance and availability of the WMS interfaces, simple and clear for end users. Besides, there are special requirements to storage conditions of some types of products (aerosols, products containing alcohol). Existence of a zone of small-pieces goods requires application of more difficult fitting algorithms and shipment. All these features were considered during setup of a warehouse management system.

In implementation process of the project by specialists of IT Scan company all key requirements of the CU Galaktika were considered. Address storage is implemented, the real physical model of a warehouse is entered into a system. Goods acceptance, as well as all other transactions, is executed on a barcode of the producer. For each of the available warehouse logical zones the individual strategy of placement and selection of goods are set. Selection is executed along an optimal route of a bypass using the principle of FIFO. Automatic replenishment of zones of selection is executed by the combined principle: on the minimum/maximum remaining balance and on a pool of operational requests for selection.

I consider that main objectives of system implementation are achieved, we purchased excellent capability effectively to supply retail network of goods at simultaneous cost reduction on intra warehouse processing and delivery of orders. Besides, we received clarity about work of a warehouse at the expense of operational reports about the movement and existence of goods in a warehouse in real time and an order due to work on the formalized processes. Also from the main personnel of a warehouse knowledge of a product line in a warehouse is not required. We can plan more effectively shipments due to exact knowledge of the number of transport places for clients by, both factory, and combined boxes.
