Content

The centralized warehouse of the Bank of Russia

The Revolving Fund of Elements of Replacement (RFER) was created in 2003 based on the technology center "Nudol". By the beginning of 2008 the volume of OFEZ exceeded 35 thousand units. Sharp increase in amounts of the material values which are kept in fund, need of increase in accuracy and speed of accomplishment of orders required streamlining and optimization of technology processes of work with material flows. It is impossible to solve these problems without implementation of a modern warehouse management system therefore the management of Bank of Russia made the decision on full automation of a warehouse complex using WMS (Warehouse Management System) - systems. According to the signed agreement, system deployment was carried out in all four warehouses of the technology center. Feature of a complex is the remoteness of warehouses from each other - two logical warehouses for storage are in the territory of bank, two in the territory of the technology center "Nudol". The distance between warehouses makes 5 km. In premises it is performed, both rack, and floor storage (for the large-size equipment).

The performed works

Specialists of IT Scan company perform engineering of business processes of a warehouse complex, the operating procedure of personnel of a warehouse in a system circuit Proxima Warehouse of WMS is defined. Installation, installation and setup of the server hardware and access point is executed. In a circuit of WMS thermotransfer printers of the Godex 2200+ labels and radio-frequency Cipher Lab 8370 terminals are used. Use of the shipping documentation allows to define remotely location and basic data of this or that element of replacement.

Jobs of the manager of a warehouse and other users of a system are unrolled. Installation and setup of a wireless fragment of the corporate computer network is executed.

In general within the project on system implementation of management Proxima Warehouse of WMS all logistic processes, from the moment of acceptance of spare parts and the equipment on a warehouse before shipment of collected orders are automated.

Achievements

Thanks to introduction of "dynamic address storage" and distribution of warehouse stocks by cells quick search of replacement elements, necessary to issue, became possible.

Now selection of a required part makes several seconds. To system implementation storekeepers hardly kept within procedural 30 minutes (according to Rules of bank, on search of goods for the client half an hour is allotted). The organization of viewing the movement of elements of replacement existing earlier did not allow to define quickly without involvement of other staff of Technical department location and key parameters of the parts necessary for elimination of emergency situations and for transfer to repair.

The project implemented by IT Scan company allowed to reach 99.9% of accuracy at a complete set of orders. At receipt of the order for a replacement element the employee of a warehouse can study location of goods as through a user interface (a relevant remaining balance, a 3D model), and via the interface of a data collection terminal (the recommendations of a system, information messages on demand).

Selection of elements of replacement from a warehouse is executed in the automatic mode on tasks on data collection terminals. Returns of the completed orders because of errors of assembly are excluded and the dependence on expert knowledge of storekeepers of the nomenclature and location of elements of replacement in a warehouse disappeared. Discrepancies between the stated and actually accepted / transferred quantity of elements of replacement are in real time fixed. Also there is a quality control, accounting of defects in the accepted batch.

Emergence of the mechanism for effective management of personnel became undoubted plus for the leaders of the center – a system provides a wide choice of instruments of control and assessment of labor productivity of employees of a warehouse. WMS gives an opportunity of preserving of stories of orders with high extent of detailing and helps to define accurately the personal responsibility for each stage of working off of the order.

Implementation of a warehouse management system is executed in accurate compliance to the plan of calendar works and without stopping a warehouse complex.
