The ERA-2000 and ERA-10000 network controllers are intended for creation at the enterprises of a functional and inexpensive control system and accounting of access.

Let's remind that the ACS controllers existing today in the market differ first of all as the interface of communication with a system applied in them. In traditional models serial RS-485 interface, in the latest network - the network Ethernet interface is used. Most of producers release products of both types, however the price of the network controller is approximately twice higher, than traditional. Perhaps, it is connected with desire of producers to pay back the new developments: the big difference in cost value of "stuffing" is not observed here. RS-485 interfaceable controllers require application of an add-on unit of switching and also laying of specialized cable lines between controllers. Company management "Era of new technologies" made rather tough market decision: speculate in differences in the prices. The ERA-2000 network controller created by her engineers was brought to the market at the price corresponding to the similar controller on RS-485 at competitors.

Course this courageous and partly risky: today any company making only ACS IP controllers does not know. The possible reason is that traditional devices on RS-485 interface more usual and rather more reliably. In Something - it is simpler: for example, there is no need to connect system operation with certain data transfer protocols. Security reasons theoretically allow a situation when at interception of the data packet sent to the network controller, the stranger can obtain some data from a system. Data transmission in the majority of the ACS existing today is performed by means of interfaces of RS-485 standard: this heritage of the last century replicated still. The young company is able to afford not to drag this load, having started developments from scratch. The main thing - not to hurry and it is correct to make everything.

Technically the ERA-2000 and ERA-10000 controllers released by Era of New Technologies company are almost identical. The difference comes down to amounts a flash memory (there are also small differences in firmwares) that allows to propose solutions for objects of different scale. Key differences of models - by the number of users in memory of the controller - respectively, it is 2,000 and 10,000 keys. In controllers the possibility of independent operation is implemented. The internal memory provides in one option storage of 60 thousand events, in another - 160 thousand. At shutdown of the server or during the work without server in general the controller is capable to accumulate independently several months or even years information. It can develop into significant economy of computing resources and the electric power. In the conditions of small office with small passability the "younger" model of the controller accumulates data up to several years. At the same time memory of controllers is non-volatile that, in fact, is today the industry standard.

Structurally the controller is the body in which two printed circuit boards are placed, on one of which the level with jumpers for connections is located. Such solution is caused by experience of installation: if to provide connection directly to a payment, the screw-driver which accidentally came off when fixing wires can injure device "brain" - and this defect will not be recognized warranty. The carrying out of jumpers out of limits of a payment simplifies installation and reduces risk of a human error. It is interesting that the power supply method, widespread in video surveillance systems, to network devices on the Ethernet (PoE) cables did not find application here. The reason is that terminal units ACS, for example, electromagnetic locks, can consume considerable power. If in the system powered on Ethernet several locks at the same time work, it is capable to lead to overcurrent condition and to cause incorrect operation of the equipment. More reliable solution provided for the products ERA - to supply each controller with the separate power supply considering requirements of the integrated terminal unit.

Functionality
