2025: R-Vision VM Implementation
One the Belarusian retailers of the household appliances - the company Patio"," managing a network of stores electronic engineers and household appliances "5 element," completed a project to implement the system. R-Vision VM The solution made it possible to build a centralized and transparent management process throughout vulnerabilities the distributed To IT infrastructure company. This was R-Vision announced on November 5, 2025.
Patio's IT infrastructure has more than 18,000 assets as of November 2025 - from workstations and servers to network equipment, cash registers and IoT devices. Prior to the implementation of R-Vision VM, inventory and vulnerability testing processes were performed manually or using disparate open source solutions. This complicated the control of the relevance of data and slowed down the response to threats.
The transition to building your own SOC was the starting point for choosing a single system that can automate inventory, identify, prioritize and control the elimination of vulnerabilities. After analyzing the available solutions, the Patio information security team settled on the R-Vision VM, a Russian vulnerability management system that combines a powerful scanner and flexible management and analytics tools.
The system combined data from different sources and became the main tool for obtaining a complete and up-to-date picture of the IT infrastructure. Integration with Active Directory and the SIEM system allowed synchronization of accounts and ensured the correlation of security events.
As part of the project, not only servers and workstations were included in a single database, but also devices available by IP addresses: cameras, MCDS and IoT equipment. After refining the inventory data, the specialists switched to scanning vulnerabilities and assessing the priorities for their elimination.
The deployment was carried out in close cooperation between the Patio and R-Vision teams: scan scripts, access accounts and equipment support for various vendors were jointly configured.
The introduction of R-Vision VM allowed Patio to create a single, managed process for dealing with vulnerabilities across the network.
Key results:
- Full infrastructure coverage: About 18,000 assets regularly undergo automatic inventory and vulnerability scans.
- High quality and reliable scanning: The system works stably even under high load and covers all types of devices - from servers to network equipment and peripherals.
- Identification and elimination of hidden problems: incorrect connections of switches, devices outside domain and outdated versions of systems were detected and fixed.
- Centralized asset and vulnerability database: Move from manual data collection to real-time automatic monitoring.
- Reducing the routine: All data on patching assets, vulnerabilities and statuses are available in one window, without the need to collect them manually from different systems.
- Point checks and patching: The ability to execute user scripts on target devices has allowed you to build the process of planning and installing updates, ensuring the prompt receipt of data on current versions of OS assemblies.
- Intelligent prioritization: Setting the prioritization formula helps to quickly assess criticality, taking into account, among other things, the trend of vulnerabilities.
- Flexibility and scalability: The system is adapted to the company's processes and supports the further development of automation.
