"СмартЛабс" improves the IPTV platform for Uralsvyazinform

The Smartlabs company announced start of the new platform of interactive television of IPTV for subscribers of the operator of telecommunication services of the Ural region – Uralsvyazinform companies (Utel brand).

In November, 2010 in Uralsvyazinform the end-to-end system of interactive television of IPTV in structure was implemented: convergent platform of provision of services of interactive television SmartTUBE SDP, client applications SmartTUBE UI and system of distribution of video content SmartMEDIA, subscriber SML-292 Premium prefixes of production of Smartlabs company, system of protection of content, monitoring system and quality control of SmartSPY and error correction system of SmartTUBE PLC.

As noted, service "House cinema hall. Utel.TV" is in high demand. The telecom operator gave to clients an opportunity of viewing video content in HD quality and also brought into commercial operation 3D (three-dimensional television) – a new stage of technology development of service in the region. The set of license content is offered to clients: more than 100 digital TV channels, 5 TV channels in HD quality, one TV channel in the 3D format; 625 SD movies, 322 HD movies, 12 3D - movies. At the same time the base of content constantly is replenished.

Features of IP television from Utel are its interactive opportunities including working already today video options on demand (VoD), viewing the selected transfers to convenient time (Time Shifted), a pause of the air (PauseLive), record of programs for the postponed viewing (nPVR, Network Personal Video Recorder). Also such interactive services as the electronic program schedule, a possibility of creation of a personal profile for each family member with individual video content, the "parental control" function using which it is possible to protect children from undesirable video, online information on weather, traffic jams, currency rates, horoscopes, etc. are available to subscribers.

In plans of the operator for the near future – providing OTT services (Over The Top) for access to content of Utel.TV through Wi-Fi of Utel network, including from the mobile devices iPhone, iPad and Android. The possibility of viewing IPTV on personal computers without use of subscriber prefixes will be implemented, the new specialized service Utel.TV for hotels prepares for start in operation.
