2025: Recovery of 9 million rubles in the case of bribes during the supply of X-ray scanners
In November 2025, in Vladimir, the Leninsky District Court decided to recover from the former heads of the Red Cross emergency hospital (BSP) and commercial suppliers more than 9 million rubles in compensation for damage caused to the state. The reason was the corruption scheme in the purchase of medical equipment.
According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, the prosecutor's claim was satisfied against the former head physician of the institution Yevgeny Yaskin, his deputy Alexander Pevunov, individual entrepreneur Marina Taigunova and the VMT and Medtech limited liability companies she controls.
The court established a joint procedure for collecting funds, which means the joint responsibility of all defendants in the case of the payment of the full amount. The corruption mechanism was implemented in 2019 when organizing the purchase of two X-ray machines for the needs of a medical institution. Commercial organizations purchased equipment at a price of 21.2 million rubles, but sold it to the hospital for 30.9 million rubles.
According to Vladimirsky Vedomosti, the participants of the scheme distributed the difference of 9.7 million rubles among themselves. Former head physician Yevgeny Yaskin received a reward of 1.75 million rubles for creating advantages for certain companies during the auction. His deputy Alexander Pevunov received 1.1 million rubles for similar illegal actions.
As part of an earlier criminal trial, a guilty verdict was passed against former medical workers. The court appointed Yaskina and Pevunov suspended sentences, taking into account their cooperation with the investigation and positive characteristics. The companies VMT and Medtech, according to Komsomolskaya Pravda, were brought to administrative responsibility under the article on illegal remuneration on behalf of a legal entity and fined a total of 2.8 million rubles.[1][2]
