The Russian company ALBA beginning the activity as the importer of footwear since 1998 is also engaged in its production; the same year the first brand stores of the company opened. Today ALBA by right is considered one of the largest producers, distributors and retail operators in the shoe market.

Year after year ALBA systematically increased sales volumes and expanded an assortment line: own brands of footwear were brought to the market, new types of accessories and joint products went on sale. The growing production volumes and trade, considerable (up to 22 thousand) number of nomenclature positions of goods from which about 5.5 thousand active, complicated work of the centralized high-rise warehouse ALBA occupying the space in 3.5 thousand sq.m. In the circumstances the decision on control automation made by company management warehouse technology transactions is submitted objective and natural.

In 2008 search of the supplier of the automated control system for a warehouse (WMS) and services in its implementation was initiated. The modern, allowing to solve relevant problems of warehouse logistics functionality in a combination to rather low cost of steel pacing factors thanks to which ALBA stopped the choice on a system "1C Logistics: Management of warehouse 3.0". The agreement on implementation was signed with WMS developer, the AXELOT company which already had by then considerable experience of successful automation of shoe warehouses.

Works in the warehouse ALBA began in September, 2008 and lasted till February, 2009. During the project all main warehouse transactions were automated (acceptance, placement, selection, control of selection and packaging in loads, shipment, internal transfer, feed, inventory), data exchange with a corporate system on the 1C: Enterprise platform is implemented, personnel training of a warehouse is provided, start of a system in commercial operation is executed. For work with WMS "1C Logistics: Management of warehouse 3.0" in the warehouse ALBA 3 stationary workplaces are automated and 10 radio data collection terminals are connected.

The specifics of processing of the goods which are stored required making changes in standard system configuration. In particular, not only the model and color of footwear are specified in the requests for shipments arriving on a warehouse from shops, but also what number of pairs of each size needs to be delivered. For automation of order processing according to requirements of shops by specialists of AXELOT in a system implement the algorithms allowing to execute selection of footwear taking into account size ranges ("tariffs").

In the warehouse ALBA it is possible to refer to features of production process also the fact that quality check of goods is performed not by personnel of a warehouse at acceptance, and the trained staff after goods acceptance and its placement in a quarantine zone. The standard goods are subject to further placement in storage locations, placement of sub-standard goods is not made. For automation of process in a system the transaction "Quality check" was implemented.

Implementation of WMS "1C Logistics: Management of warehouse 3.0" allowed to increase considerably speed and to increase quality of execution of works in a warehouse. ALBA and AXELOT are completely satisfied with the course and results of cooperation.
