MagiCAD is the solution for design of the systems of internal utilities: ventilation, conditioning, heating, water supply and water disposal, water fire extinguishing, warm cold supply, electrical and low-current systems. MagiCAD combines a convenient drawing instrument and a powerful settlement core. The program contains more than 100,000 items of equipment supplied with heattechnical, hydraulic and acoustic characteristics from the leading European manufacturers. MagiCAD is the annex to AutoCAD MEP 2011 and Revit MEP 2011.

2020: MagiCAD 2021 for Revit and AutoCAD

On June 2, 2020 the MagiCAD Group company announced release of MagiCAD 2021 for Revit and AutoCAD. In upgraded version of the software intellectual functions are implemented and workflows for faster and convenient design of the internal engineering systems of buildings are optimized. MagiCAD 2021 supports versions of Autodesk Revit 2021 and AutoCAD 2021.

According to the company, the version contains tools for a system design of supply with natural gas and also enters to an arsenal of designers of function who allow to optimize workflows, to organize cooperation and do all design process by more comfortable.

MagiCAD for Revit 2021 provides to designers a complex of functions for design and calculation of the systems of gas supply. Upgraded version includes the components and functions of calculation considering specifics of the systems of gas supply that is addition of the existing instruments of design of pipeline systems.

For designers of power supply systems an opportunity to add and install mounting boxes for electric devices is implemented. Installation of mounting boxes together with real components allows to use the simulated system of a pipe electrical wiring, for example, at production of the national teams of concrete goods and also for more exact calculation of specifications. Mounting boxes are available also in MagiCAD to Revit, and in MagiCAD to AutoCAD.

Besides, in this version of MagiCAD the intellectual function allowing to optimize selection and installation of heating devices in the specific premises is used. Function reads out data of Revit on the premises and considers the sizes of windows, their arrangement to automatically determine and offer for installation an optimal configuration of heating devices according to parameters of the specific premises.

Other updates: automatic creation of the main electric circuits, the updated instruments of creation of connections for water disposal systems, intellectual installation of sewer wells and the advanced instrument of processing of parameters, optimize work with different sections of the project. Making changes in the systems of the sewerage using editing elevation marks of the existing sewer pipes is simplified: editing is executed automatically that saves functionality of a system. Thus saving of time thanks to a possibility of editing a system instead of its repeated drawing is reached. Expanded codes of installation for ventilation systems, pipelines and power supply systems allow to increase efficiency and comfort of the workflows assuming interaction of designers and contractors. Along with the opportunity mentioned above to use mounting boxes, designers of power supply systems can model more precisely vertical turns of cable channels and cables now thanks to an opportunity to set own values of radius for vertical turns.

2019: MagiCAD 2020 for Revit and AutoCAD

On June 4, 2019 MagiCAD Group announced release of MagiCAD 2020 for Revit and AutoCAD. The provided version of MagiCAD 2020 includes a number of additional intellectual functions and the optimized workflows for more convenient and fast design of the engineering systems of buildings. MagiCAD 2020 supports current versions of Autodesk Revit 2020 and AutoCAD 2020.

According to the developer, together with two previous MagiCAD 2020 service packs provides for designers of the engineering systems of the buildings working in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, broad range of functionality. The provided version contains more than 190 updated functions for both platforms. The quantity and a variety of functionality of MagiCAD 2020 facilitates work of the designer and promotes optimization of workflows.

Among the key features mentioned by the developer – full compatibility of MagiCAD 2020 with Autodesk BIM 360 Design – a cloud solution for the organization of joint work and project management of Revit. Such compatibility gives the chance to automatically synchronize MagiCAD data sets within projects of Revit thanks to what all project participants use only up-to-date data.

According to the developer, designers of power supply systems will estimate completely updated functionality of the instrument of laying of cables implemented in MagiCAD 2020. Intellectual functions, such as print preview, an opportunity to select alternative options of distributing and automatic drawing of a cable between devices and also the updated display modes and intelligent instruments of drawing increase convenience of work on projects of power supply systems.

2017: MagiCAD 2018

The Progman company provided in the summer of 2017 of MagiCAD 2018 with expanded functions for design of the engineering systems. MagiCAD 2018 offers an expanded set of intellectual functions for optimization of workflows which accelerate and simplify design process of ventilation systems, conditioning, heating, water supply, the sewerage, fire extinguishing and power supply. MagiCAD 2018 supports Autodesk Revit AutoCAD technologies 2018 and 2018.

To make process of management of licenses more convenient for the clients, starting with the version of MagiCAD 2018, numbering and a release of new versions will follow the practice accepted for products of Autodesk. The new model assumes release of the annual new version of MagiCAD and also 2-3 service packs within a year including new and the improved MagiCAD functions. Thus, new products in development of the program will be available to users quicker and more often than earlier.

2012: MagiCAD 2012.4

June, 2012 This solution is used for design and calculation of ventilation systems, heating, water fire extinguishing, electricians. The software package MagiCAD combines a convenient drawing instrument and a powerful settlement core. Contains more than 200,000 items of equipment of the leading European manufacturers with heattechnical, hydraulic and acoustic characteristics.

In a software package a number of changes was made and new opportunities are implemented. Let's call the main of them.

• Support of AutoCAD 2013 and Autodesk Revit MEP 2013 is provided.
• The new options in settings of installation of the electrotechnical equipment allowing to set the plane, turn and height of installation are added.
• There was an opportunity to copy objects by means of "handles".
• Now it is possible to move objects on axis Z with preserving of initial corners of shaped parts of air ducts or pipelines.
• During creation of construction openings there was an opportunity to use the sizes of cable trays directly from external references.
• It became possible to display the airdistributing equipment in the form of 2D - the character.
• When copying or moving section of network together with an air duct also the texts associated with it and tags are copied now.
• The new option allows to set a gap between cable trays during the laying of cable constructions and alignment of height of trays relatively each other.
• The new features allowing to find even quicker and more conveniently the most loaded section of network and to display it on the drawing are added.
• Work with texts is simplified: there were new formats and also an opportunity to edit the free text double click of a mouse button.
• And to replace additional opportunities of the Find function allow to change the pipeline sizes, without mentioning connecting branch pipes.
• Work of export of IFC is improved: now when exporting the hyperlinks set in settings of objects and isolation are considered.
• Now it is possible to browse an equipment 3D model directly in an equipment selection window.
• During creation of series of pipelines their sizes are automatically added to settings of the Revit pipelines.

As of March, 2011 the following modules are a part of MagiCAD: MagiCAD Pipelines, MagiCAD Ventilation, MagiCAD Power supply, MagiCAD Premises, MagiCAD Comfort and energy, MagiCAD Schematics and MagiCAD Sprinklers.
