2025: Detecting a marriage that causes the steering wheel to fail while driving
In mid-November 2025, the Japanese company Suzuki announced the recall of Vitara and SX4 S-Cross cars supplied to the European market. The identified problem can lead to a failure of the electric power steering, which increases the likelihood of a road accident.
As reported in the notification of the Federal Automobile Administration transport Germany (KBA), an error may occur in the electronic unit of these vehicles, accompanied by the disconnection of the power steering. In this case, it is difficult to rotate the steering wheel, which in certain situations (for example, with intensive maneuvering) can provoke the risk of an accident.
In total, almost 16 thousand Vitara and SX4 S-Cross cars, which were produced in 2024, fall under the recall. On these machines, dealership specialists will update the onboard software. All work will be carried out free of charge for car owners. There are no restrictions on the operation of vehicles, but Suzuki recommends signing up for repairs as soon as possible to eliminate the risk of sudden steering power failure while driving. No incidents related to the issue have been reported as of the end of November 2025.
In addition, Maruti Suzuki recalled 39.5 thousand Grand Vitara cars manufactured between December 9, 2024 and April 29, 2025. These machines have a defect associated with the fuel level indicator and the corresponding test indicator on the dashboard. The problem leads to an incorrect assessment of the remaining fuel in the tank. Dealership specialists will check vehicles subject to recall and, if necessary, replace defective components for free.[1]
