The Academy of the State Fire Service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the Technology Center for Yandex are launching a project in which artificial intelligence will help EMERCOM employees to inspect the scene faster and more accurately - from fires in residential premises to industrial facilities. The introduction of artificial intelligence technologies into the practical work of the Academy will contribute to improving fire safety and preventing similar accidents in the future. Yandex (Yandex) announced this on November 27, 2025.

The project, based on Yandex Cloud technology, is in the pilot testing phase and is trained in photographs and protocols of real fires. The technology, developed using Yandex AI Studio tools, analyzes images from the fire site, highlights key objects and describes them in a formalized form - creating text that an employee uses to compile official documents. In the future, the description of the scene will take seconds instead of 40 - 60 minutes, which on average spend on this work today.

Thanks to the reduction in the time for issuing a protocol for inspecting a fire site, EMERCOM employees will be able to devote more time to analytics, interviewing witnesses and establishing the causes of the fire. The system will minimize the risks of human error and ensure a single high standard of document quality. If the technology is introduced everywhere, it will be able to speed up the processing of thousands of cases, which means it will help to quickly identify the causes of fires, prevent their recurrence and protect people and their property, "said Malko Valery, associate professor of the Department of Supervision of the Academy of the State Fire Service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Since 2024, at the initiative of the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov, work has been underway to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into the practical activities of inquiry bodies and forensic institutions of the department. One of the directions was the information support of investigators during the preliminary verification of the incident report. Now access to the system is provided to employees of the Academy of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, later the service will be deployed for all employees of the department throughout the country.

Cooperation Russia with the Ministry of Emergency Situations is aimed at improving the effectiveness of investigations and fire prevention thanks to technology. Loading on investigators and experts is colossal, especially in the regions.
