Cisco OfficeExtend

The solution Cisco OfficeExtend includes new access points and a full range of the wireless controllers supporting the high performance of wireless connections. These controllers are intended for support of the systems of the increased scale and complexity in any house or office environment. Also industry-first dual-band access point 802.11n, developed especially for home workers is a part of the solution.

The new products Cisco do not require intervention from end users that allows to reduce requirements to technical support and to reduce total cost of ownership. IT specialists will be able to service the access points set at home in the remote mode together with all other corporate infrastructure.

Access points of Cisco Aironet® 600 Series OfficeExtend Access Points, wireless Cisco controllers and a management system of Cisco Wireless Control System are a part of the solution Cisco OfficeExtend. These new products provide to home workers wide feature set and performance, comparable with what is received by the employees working at office. New products supplement the solution Cisco for virtual office (Cisco Virtual Office, CVO), offering remote workers additional opportunities of wireless connections. The solution Cisco OfficeExtend is ready to voice transmission and video. It also supports the Cisco ClientLink and Cisco VideoStream functions optimizing performance of multimedia communications.

New solution components of Cisco OfficeExtend are listed below:

• New access points of Cisco Aironet 600 Series OfficeExtend Access Points work according to specifications 802.11n in two ranges: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, - selecting from them that which is less loaded and ready to support higher performance. Access points of Cisco Aironet 600 distinguish the corporate and private identifiers SSID that allows to separate corporate traffic from personal. As a result personal traffic of the home worker goes directly to the Internet, without loading corporate controllers. New access points have four integrated Ethernet ports for connection of IP phones, printers and other network devices that allows to develop full-scale mobile home office.
• The new module of wireless services Cisco Catalyst® 6500 Series Wireless Services Module supports up to 500 corporate and home access points, allowing customers to create large-scale wireless local area networks with a large number of the mobile devices working with resource-intensive multimedia applications (telepresence, the voice and virtual desktop systems, etc.). Besides, the module Cisco Wireless Service Module for the Catalyst 6500 switches supports technology of noise cutoff Cisco CleanAir, technology of formation of an antenna beam Cisco ClientLink (increases performance of clients) and Cisco VideoStream technology for optimization of multi-address video transmission through wireless channels.
• For smaller networks new wireless Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controllers controllers and the software are intended for Cisco ISR G2 Services-Ready Engine. These components also work according to specifications 802.11n, supporting up to 50 access points and 500 clients. The innovative delivery pattern opens two options of use of controllers before customers: a) with physical installation of the wireless service modules Wireless Services Module or wireless Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controller controllers and b) with providing controllers to functionality online after loading of the software on demand on the module ISR G2 Services Ready Engine. Wireless Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controller controllers and the software with functionality of wireless controllers for Cisco ISR G2 Services-Ready Engine devices also support Cisco CleanAir, ClientLink and VideoStream technologies.
