Schenker of Rusxiya AO (1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse)

"Schenker of Rusxiya AO" – subsidiary company of the global logistic corporation "Schenker" taking the leading positions in the world market of complex services in the field of logistics and cargo delivery. "Schenker of Rusxiya AO" specializes in automobile and rail transportation across the territory of Europe and the CIS countries and also renders a full range of services in the international avias - and to shipping. One more activity of the company in Russia is provision of services of safe custody.

In 2007 by the company "Schenker" the new warehouse of safe custody of goods located in Leninsky district of the Moscow region near MKAD was opened for Rusxiya AO. One of the leading German manufacturers of the electrotechnical systems and products for industrial and residential buildings having the branch in Russia became the client who used services of a new warehouse. This enterprise is engaged in release of three different groups of goods: channels for laying of cables and installation of devices, distribution frames with all necessary modular devices and install devices (switches, switches, dimmer, sockets, etc.). In the nomenclature reference book of the enterprise – about 1500 active positions.

Provision of services of safe custody assumes the high accuracy of an inventory accounting and limit formalization of transactions. It, including, is reached using the modern automated control system for a warehouse which the company "Schenker of Rusxiya AO" planned to implement for ensuring effective work of a new object.

As the contractor of the project the AXELOT company – developer of the solution, joint with 1C company, "was selected by 1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse". The project team of AXELOT consisted of the project manager of the consultant for a system, and the programmer. From outside "Schenker of Rusxiya AO" supervised the project the Head of Department of warehouse logistics. The AXELOT company started execution of works on April 23, 2007.

Need of system implementation of automation in the course of moving of a warehouse became one of features of this project. The new premises were not completely equipped that created additional difficulties and required more temporary resources for setup of a system.

The curator of the project from Schenker Russiya has considerable experience in area of the organization of warehouse economy and works on implementation of WMS systems that became one of the most important premises for the successful and operational solution of assigned tasks.

Within a week from an old warehouse transportation of goods which was accepted and placed on a new warehouse was made. Information input about opening balances of goods in a system was made using a data collection terminal.

During the project in a warehouse address accounting by storage locations is entered. The basic warehouse processes are automated: acceptance, selection and shipment of goods. Also in view of limited space of a zone of acceptance the possibility of the combined process of acceptance and placement is implemented what printed forms with indication of the current storage location of the accepted goods were specially developed for. It allowed to place in a semi-automatic mode in a warehouse the arrived goods in parts before completion of process of acceptance of all goods. The functionality of the implemented system also allows "Schenker to Rusxiya AO" to calculate services of safe custody using the specialized module. In particular, for the nomenclature positions processed during acceptance and shipment the fixed rate by which the total quantity of the accepted and shipped goods is monthly multiplied is provided. The total sum is used for calculation of the services of safe custody provided to the client. The client can also quickly receive the analytical reporting under cargo processing in different cuts.

Within the project automatic integration of a system "1C Logistics is implemented: Management of a warehouse" with a corporate system of the client of the company "Schenker of Rusxiya AO" that saved warehouse personnel from need of manual entry of information on the planned acceptance and shipment of goods.

According to the Head of Department of warehouse logistics of the company "Schenker of Rusxiya AO" Volkova K.N., the project is complete successfully: since the beginning of project works before input of a system in commercial operation on May 18 passed less than a month. The project team of AXELOT completed training of employees of a warehouse, and since June 27 the new automation system is completely serviced by the Customer's forces. System implementation of management of a warehouse allowed to minimize dependence on the personnel not familiar with the range of goods and to considerably reduce time of placement of goods and selection of orders.
