2025: Library Launch
The ITMO University CT-Lab team has developed a free CoolPrompt library for automatic optimization of prompts - instructions for large language models. It simplifies and speeds up the writing of requests for artificial intelligence and allows specialists without deep technical knowledge to get specific results.
Users around the world use generative artificial intelligence in different areas, but its effectiveness depends on a common problem - in order for the language model to correctly complete the task, it needs to give extremely clear instructions. To create simple text, it is enough to set several prompts. However, for deeper tasks, such as computing or systematizing data in the field of medicine or jurisprudence, a prompt engineer is needed.
The process of compiling complex queries requires knowledge in the field of technology, a lot of time, trial and error. CoolPrompt automatically generates and tests different prompts. The library independently optimizes queries and outputs the best to accurately adapt it to a specific task.
Manual work on the creation of high-quality industrial pots can take hours. The specialist has to repeatedly adjust the wording, test various options and analyze the results. Automation of this process significantly reduces time costs and improves the quality of final requests.
The head of the RnD team at CT-Lab, Nikita Kulin, explained that CoolPrompt's advantage over analogues such as Dspy, PromptWizard, Promptomatix is its high efficiency in selecting industrial pots and wide functionality. The framework itself can generate data for customizing and evaluating requests.[1]
