2025: Launch of DDoS protection service for telecom operators

MTS on December 24, 2025 announced the launch of a service for telecom operators and owners of autonomous systems - high-speed Internet access with integrated traffic protection against DDoS attacks. The use of such protection on the MTS backbone network minimizes the risk of deterioration of Internet access to protected information systems and resources for V2S and V2V users of telecom operators.

Service model protection against DDoS attacks will help reduce network security operational costs by not investing in the expensive hardware, licenses, and qualified staff needed to protect against DDoS attacks.

The service was implemented on the basis of a domestic solution entered in the Register of Russian Software of the Ministry of Digital Engineering of Russia and certified by the FSTEC of Russia.

The service provides detection and blocking of DDoS attacks of various types in 24/7 mode. A dedicated team of cybersecurity experts will ensure correct configuration of traffic monitoring and filtering rules, technical support and consulting of telecom operator employees. Users of the service will have access to a personal account in which they can get complete information about the reflected DDoS attacks, monitor the quality of the service and generate reports on various analytical slices.

Analytical reports show that telecom operators and information service providers in the third quarter of 2025 were again in first place as targets of DDoS attacks, and in the second quarter the number of attacks increased by 45% year-on-year.
