2025: Plant Launch
In December 2025, a new plant for the production of full-cycle alkaline batteries was commissioned in Moscow. The production capacity of the enterprise is 200 thousand batteries per day.
LLC "First Galvanic Cell Plant" ("First Cell") will produce alkaline batteries of two sizes: AA ("finger") and AAA ("pinky"). The products will be divided into three categories, differing in capacity and duration of service.
The project is characterized by an environmental strategy based on a closed production cycle. The company is aimed at using the technology of deep processing of spent power elements.
This technology allows you to re-involve up to 4 thousand tons of secondary materials, including zinc and manganese, in the production process. The share of the use of secondary resources reaches 70%. This approach reduces the cost of final products by 15-25%.
The general director of the plant, Denis Kornilov, said that the implementation of the project required ten years of intensive work. During this time, cooperation with Russian suppliers of raw materials was established, special laboratory equipment for testing components was developed and a high-speed automated line was introduced. To service this line, qualified specialists were trained.
Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, stressed that "the capital has become an attractive place for investment." Almost 4.6 thousand industrial companies operate in the city, in which over 755 thousand people are employed. To support manufacturers, the city is implementing more than 20 measures, including an interest compensation program on investment loans and various tax breaks.[1]
