The Living Foundation has expanded its IT infrastructure and updated the site with the support of VK Tech

2025: Move Main Site to VK Cloud Platform

The Living Foundation moved an updated version of the main site to the cloud and expanded the technical capabilities of the project with the VK Cloud platform. VK Tech provided the platform capacity on a free basis and announced this on December 25, 2025.

"Living" is a charitable foundation for helping adults, which since 2010 has specialized in helping seriously ill citizens of Russia aged 18 to 60 years. The organization helps people with various diagnoses pay for medicines and operations, and also translates guidelines for cancer patients into Russian.

The project website contains the stories of the wards, reporting and training materials, so the stable operation of the resource and the preservation of data are critical for the activities of the fund and the trust of donors.

In 2025, the foundation needed to increase the volume of cloud storage in order to install updates and launch a new version of the site with a section with guidelines, which includes more than 30 translations and adaptations of international recommendations. Ever-growing amounts of content - patient histories, photos, videos and documents - required additional resources to store data securely. VK Cloud tests and workloads have shown that the cloud platform meets the foundation's new requirements for high availability, fast page loading, and data protection compliance.

It is important for us that the foundation's website works stably - this is our main tool for communication with patients, doctors and donors. When we needed to increase storage capacity and upgrade the platform, the VK Cloud team responded quickly and helped to do so without stopping the site. Now we have room for development: we will be able to improve sections, expand the base of oncohydlines and make materials more accessible to people who need timely support. In the future, we plan to improve the structure of materials - add categories, filters and explanations to make information more convenient for patients and specialists, "said Alexandra Borodkina, director of the Living Foundation.
