2025: CAS Dreguard Testing Complete
Tricolor, together with technology partner GS Labs, completed the testing period for its own CAS DREGUARD conditional access system and reported on the results. Tricolor announced this on January 19, 2026.
Tricolor and GS Labs carried out phased work on the introduction of the CAS DREGUARD conditional access system into commercial operation. It protects content from commercial piracy and modernizes the entire technology chain for transmitting a television signal. According to the results, at each stage, improvements were introduced into the product to increase the stability of the domestic conditional access system. CAS DREGUARD is embedded as an additional module in the Tricolor satellite broadcasting platform.
The upgrade of the conditional access system made it possible to work within a single solution both with the existing fleet of operator devices, including all the features of their hardware architecture, and with new promising equipment models. The implementation of CAS DREGUARD will reduce the cost of operation, as well as optimize the cost of manufacturing consoles. Ultimately, this will allow Tricolor to offer more affordable satellite equipment in the future.
| Tricolor and our technology partner GS Labs have completed testing of the CAS DREGUARD conditional access system. We have improved a product that meets market requirements and expands the list of client devices for watching TV. Our conditional access system is special, since there are no other similar domestic solutions on the Russian market yet, "commented Denis Filipishen, director of broadcasting and information technologies at Tricolor. |
