2026: Opening of the Centre

In January 2026, a student campus was officially opened in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the first facility of the SakhalinTech campus being created. The project was implemented on the basis of a concession with the financial participation of Gazprombank. The total capital investment in the project is estimated at 34.5 billion rubles.

According to Kommersant, the main financing is provided by the credit limit of Gazprombank in the amount of about 23 billion rubles. The concessionaire is the Sakhalin Campus Company, established by the K1 Concessions Group and GPB-Infrastructure Holding.

SakhalinTech Campus Project

The SakhalinTech project provides for the construction of facilities with a total area of ​ ​ 125 thousand square meters. m. The commissioned campus is designed to accommodate 1,500 people. In parallel, the construction of a scientific and educational center (REC) continues.

The commissioning of the REC is scheduled for the end of 2027. The one-time capacity of the center will be 2,400 students. The contour of the complex will include an educational building, a library, a conference hall with 700 seats, a scientific and laboratory block with a technopark for practical work, public spaces and an open greenhouse.

First Vice President of Gazprombank Pavel Brusser said that the launch of SakhalinTech creates fundamentally new conditions for the educational process and scientific activity. He stressed that the use of the concession model with the involvement of private capital allows the implementation of world-class projects on time.

Sakhalin Oblast Valery Limarenko The governor said that the implementation of the project was made possible thanks to the cooperation of regional authorities and the Ministries of Science and Higher Education Russia efforts of builders. The second stage, including the commissioning of a scientific and educational complex with a technopark and laboratories, is scheduled for 2027, Limarenko added.[1]
