VAS Experts implemented a project for the transition - Internetprovider INSTANET (Insta Telecom) working in the market, Middle East to a software platform. INSTANET develops its own FTTH network and provides broadband services to private and corporate customers. As the load increased, the existing architecture ceased to provide the required performance and flexibility. Under these conditions, the operator needed a more modern software platform without rebuilding the network and abandoning existing integrations.

INSTANET chose VAS Experts SCAT as the target solution, combining the functions of BRAS, CG-NAT and Quality of Service (QoE). The solution allowed to preserve the current network scheme, as well as integration with billing and RADIUS, while expanding the tools for managing subscriber traffic.

The first SCAT server was commissioned in the summer of 2022. The transition went smoothly: the system was adapted to the current operator architecture, tariff models and business scenarios were tested, after which the platform was transferred to commercial operation. Additionally, SCAT was integrated with the billing system for correct authorization and accounting of subscribers.

As the load grew, INSTANET consistently increased platform performance. Additional servers were installed and existing nodes upgraded, increasing BRAS throughput to 10G.

As a result of the implementation of SCAT, the operator received stable network operation under high load, efficient use of IP address space and transparent traffic and tariff management.
