2026: Nationalization
The Oktyabrsky District Court Krasnodar on the claim Prosecutor General's Office RUSSIAN FEDERATION turned states the assets of the Sochi businessman Vigen Sargsyan into income as compensation for damage and compensation for environmental damage. According to the case file, Sargsyan and a number of other businessmen illegally built several residential complexes along the Black Sea coast in the Adler district of Sochi. For residential development, land belonging to the Chkalovsky vegetable farm was used. As a result, 606 hectares dropped out of agricultural land. The prosecutor's office estimated the damage at 4.2 billion rubles, and the damage to the environment due to damage to soils and plants exceeded 1.9 billion rubles. In June 2025, the Goryacheklyuchevskaya City Court recovered 6.1 billion rubles from the defendants. Sargsyan's representatives denied his affiliation with the developers. The defendants filed an appeal, but the Krasnodar Regional Court rejected it.
To cover this amount, the Prosecutor General's Office demanded that property belonging to Sargsyan and 18 individuals and legal entities affiliated with him be turned into state revenue. Having considered the case file, the court satisfied the claims.
According to the decision, the objects that make up the property complex of the Crowne Plaza hotels in Krasnodar were nationalized. In addition, six residential premises in Goryachy Klyuch and 13 real estate objects located in Adygea, Moscow and the Krasnodar Territory were seized. Shares of ZAO "Sanatorium" Goryachiy Klyuch "and ZAO" Sanatorium "Foothills of the Caucasus" are also converted into state income. It is emphasized that the court decision is subject to immediate execution.[1]
