RDTECH booked audit of databases in X5 Retail Group N.V.

The RDTECH company successfully completed the project of audit of databases of the standard Distribution Centre - one of key objects for ensuring activity of X5 Retail Group N.V.

Expertize of a DB of the standard Distribution Centre was carried out by specialists of RDTECH company together with database managers of IT department of X5 Retail Group company. Audit of a hardware configuration of servers, databases, its performance and procedures of service was a part of works. Also examination of the system used for monitoring of performance of databases was conducted.

Based on testing specialists RDTECH revealed shortcomings of functioning of a system and issued to database administrators of the recommendation and instruction for accomplishment of scheduled works. Using these recommendations X5 will be able to optimize work of databases of the standard Distribution Centre, having increased the level of its maintenance. Then this configuration of the Oracle platform will be transferred to the Centers of this kind and will promote their optimal work.

Dmitry Dyomin, the head of department of support of X5 Retail Group N.V DBMS, tells: "At the beginning of the project several standard configurations of the Distribution Centre were defined and created. Setup of optimum performance of Oracle databases of one standard Center will make further possible replication of this configuration in other RTs of the same type that also support of the RTs databases will allow the company to cut down maintenance expenses and also to create the structured network of warehouses".
