2025: Automated metering of sugar bags on the conveyor line

Rusagro Group of Companies implemented a project for automated metering of bags of sugar on the conveyor line.

The task arose at the stage of packaging and transportation of finished products: with a high speed of movement of bags, manual counting made it difficult to quickly control volumes and created the risk of discrepancies between the actual number and data of accounting systems. This was especially evident during peak shipping periods.

As part of the project, the Vmx Qualex: Count solution was implemented, which performs automatic counting of bags in the stream on the conveyor. The system records the passage of each unit through the control zone and generates data in real time without stopping the line.

Computer vision algorithms are adapted to the conditions of the industrial environment: possible displacement of bags, partial ceilings and a change in the shape of the package during transportation are taken into account. This allows you to maintain correct counting even with an unstable position of the product on the tape.

The results of the system are used to compare with the data of production and warehouse accounting. Thus, an additional level of control is provided during the stage of packaging and transfer of products to further logistics.

The implementation was carried out without changing the configuration of the conveyor line. The solution is integrated into existing processes as a tool for controlling the actual quantity of production in the stream.
