Calico (1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse)

Kolenkor company – one of the leading suppliers of office supplies on the market of Russia. The company offers more than 4000 names of goods for school, office and the house from leading manufacturers of Europe, Asia and Russia. At the same time the company performs not only sale of import and domestic stationery, but also has own production base.

The wide range and large volumes of a trading activity which were reached by the company by the end of 2004 resulted in need to take a number of actions for improvement of management of warehouse economy.

For quality improvement of customer service, achievement of high accuracy of an inventory control, reduction of dependence on personnel and increase in efficiency of its use the company management decided to automate work of a warehouse.

For project launch functions of corporate information base of the company were successfully performed by the standard configuration "1C: Trade and Warehouse" on the 1C: Enterprise 7.7 platform. For effective solution of managerial tasks its opportunity needed to complement with functionality of a warehouse management system.

After the research of the market of information systems, a circle of potential suppliers of services in automation and also experience of other companies which performed similar projects, the company management stopped the choice on the application solution "1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse" on the new platform "1C: Enterprise 8.0". As the partner company the AXELOT company which developed this product together with 1C Company and executed a number of successful implementations in the field of automation of logistics and management of warehouses was selected.

On initial stage of works the specifics of the project which had an impact on all course of implementation were revealed: existence of the wide range of stationery, rather small sizes of a warehouse (3000 m), active use of floor storage. Also program installation in extremely short time was required – on all project no more than 1.5 months were allotted.

The AXELOT company successfully performed implementation of the program in the allotted time thanks to installation of standard option with automation of the following warehouse transactions:

• goods acceptance;
• placement of goods;
• disassembling (repacking);
• replenishment and selection of goods;
• shipment;
• inventory of goods.

The customer received that management tool the warehouse processes which expected: optimal placement, fast selection, simplicity of inventory, ample opportunities for analytical work and solution of managerial questions. At implementation of the project together with the customer the original organizational solution for start of a system in operation without stopping of a warehouse and carrying out a complete inventory was found. At once process of ordering of storage of goods in a warehouse began with launch of a system.
