SmartAisle is the solution for cooling system management applying technology of isolation of a cold corridor to increase in efficiency of cooling of the equipment and loading of racks.

Optimizing arrangement of racks in hot and cold corridors, the flexible solution of SmartAisle isolates a cold corridor for prevention of mixing of a hot and cold air under "intellectual" management of a control system of Liebert iCOM. The combination of isolation of a cold corridor and exact control over temperature, humidity and an air flow allows the SmartAisle system to reduce electricity consumption by 30% and to increase cooling system power by 25% without decrease in availability, claim in Emerson Network Power.

Knurr cabinets racks from Emerson Network Power are used in the system of isolation of a cold corridor. The SmartAisle system can be adapted for the available racks for the computing equipment. The ceiling from transparent organic glass is used as the roof isolating a cold air. For isolation of space in the ends of corridors there are oar or sliding doors. Horizontal and vertical stubs of racks are necessary for regulation of air flow in a rack. The additional system of partitions is applied to isolation of ceiling overlapping as an alternative to ceiling panels from organic glass.

Besides, the control system of Liebert iCOM gives an opportunity of control, management and contact with the equipment that is necessary for achievement of higher performance in comparison with the standard isolating structures, explained in Emerson Network Power. Portable sensors in hot and cold corridors allow the Liebert iCOM system to set the necessary level of temperature, humidity and speed of an air flow on a ventilating grate of servers. The control system traces conditions in a cold corridor that is necessary for simultaneous independent control of the compressor with a regulated performance (or refrigerating capacity of a coolant) and rotational speeds of fans of refrigerators. Besides, it allows devices to work in the group mode and to distribute loading for the purpose of economy of energy.

The solution SmartAisle can be used with a raised floor or a normal floor, it is compatible to the Liebert HPM Digital Scroll compressors with a regulated performance and Liebert HPM cooling systems under control of Liebert iCOM and also with the linear Liebert CRV and Liebert XD systems under control of Liebert iCOM. Power of a system can be up to 30 kW on a rack, depending on what type of cooling is used at isolation of a cold corridor — internal or external. The available racks for the computing equipment can be upgraded for use with the system of sealing SmartAisle.
