SEI HPE BSMU Bashkir State Medical University was founded in 1932. Currently, the university prepares personnel in six faculties: medical, pediatric, dental, pharmaceutical, higher nursing education, advanced training of doctors and pharmacists.

History

2026: Four Indian students injured in knife attack by teenager

In February 2026, in Ufa, a teenager armed with a knife, brass knuckles and pepper spray attacked students of the Medical University of BSMU.

As a result of the attack, four students from India were injured, one of them was hospitalized in serious condition. During the arrest, the offender resisted, injuring two police officers. At the same time, he himself inflicted severe injuries on himself and is now in the hospital.

A criminal case has been initiated on attempted murder of two or more persons and encroachment on the life of a police officer. The motives of the attacker at the moment are established by the investigation. According to some reports, the minor was a supporter of neo-Nazi views, painting a swastika on one of the walls of the hostel with blood.

2024: Opening of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine for the Development of Bioengineering and Bioprinting

On July 12, 2024, on the basis of the Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) Ministry of Health Russia , the official opening of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine took place. 2022: Opening of the Institute of Digital Medicine

In January 2022, on the basis of the Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU), the Institute of Digital Medicine was opened in Ufa, which will specialize in the implementation of technological projects in the field of health care, including in the field of telemedicine. Read more here.
