Tom Hogan, the top manager on sales of software division of NR, leaves the company. It provided triple profit increase of the company. Replacement of the head on conscience of the current CEO of the company, Leo Apotheker. The successor is already appointed.
Tom Hogan came to HP in 2006 for gain of software business of the company and within three years started (in good sense!) HP Software. The company made a number of large acquisitions, including in July, 2006 laid out $4.5 billion for Mercury Interactive and $1.4 billion for Opsware a year later.
In April, 2010 Hogan reached a position of the executive vice president for sales and marketing of group of corporate business at NR and from now on was engaged in reconstruction of marketing operations and sales to the company: servers, storage systems, networks, services and software. The share of corporate business in NR makes slightly less than a half of its income - $126 billion, according to the results of the last financial year.
Presumably, many of incomprehensible marketing slogans of HP and names of products, last of which "Instant-On Enterprise" (Innovation enterprise – so interprets this expression the Russian representative office of HP) - it is possible to correlate to Hogan. Not necessarily because he is their creator, but because he "gave the green light" to their use.
It is said in the statement of HP that creation of "the university of sales" and start of strategy of "Instant-On Enterprise" for the enterprises and governmental bodies entrusted Hogan the accelerated enrollment of employees in sales department and marketing. "Having passed these milestones, Hogan felt that his time has come - to follow other interests", says HP. Hogan will remain in HP till May 31, for ensuring smooth change of heads.
Hogan started the career in IT in 1982 sales of the proprietary systems of the middle class of System/3X from IBM, and as a result grew to the sales executive in North and South America. It jumped in Siebel Systems and worked as the senior vice president for sales of the first CRM applicaitons, the quadruple sales increase of the company is attributed to it. After that he was the president and the CEO in Vignette company - the software maker of content management systems (CMS) which created as a result of acquisitions.
HP Software tripled the income under the leadership of Hogan.
The output that in the conference hall of HP there is not enough place for two experts in the software arises, and Leo Apotheker is the new president of HP and the CEO who was once the CEO of software giant SAP in this plan, undoubtedly, exceeds Hogan. And it can be the cause of leaving of the last. But it is also probable that Apotheker wants to attract still someone to work on sales and marketing of a corporate part of business of NR.
It is already known that Hogan's place will be taken by Jan Zadak, now the managing director of division of HP in EMEA region. There will be it on May 1 the current year.
Zadak is appointed to the present position a year ago, and before he by the senior vice president for sales of division of corporate systems in EMEA region, working for Ann Livermor when it managed all corporate business of NR.
The back from the Czech Republic, graduated from the Czech technical university in Prague having protected degree on electrical equipment. Within five years worked in the Czech division of Olivetti, from 1992 to 1997, and then came to Compaq as the manager on the region of Central and Eastern Europe and also the Middle East and Africa. After HP was purchased by Compaq, Zadak undertook management in EMEA region.
