Dell vStart

Dell vStart is a set of solutions for e-mail, new solutions for effective work of DPC, the solution for creation of virtual infrastructure. The joint strategic initiative of virtualization which will allow to simplify management of virtualization, to cut down expenses and to accelerate implementation of cloud computing.

• Complete solutions for e-mail a Set of solutions for archiving of e-mail will allow customers to select software provider for backup and archiving - Symantec or CommVault, a preferable consumption pattern - a cloud or local placement and a set of necessary services. The system of archiving of e-mail and files from Dell is already delivered in the USA and in the second quarter 2011 will be available in Europe.
• Dell Desktop Virtualization Solutions (DDVS) is a new set of solutions for deployment of the systems of virtualization of desktops. Solutions are used by service packages with the set-up equipment and the software and are already delivered in the USA, during 2011 DDVS solutions will be available also in other countries.
• Dell vStart - the solution for creation of virtual infrastructure - supports VMware and includes the Dell PowerEdge servers on Intel Xeon processors, Dell EqualLogic storage systems, the Dell PowerConnect switches, hypervisors and necessary expansions for management of virtualization. The solution Dell vStart is delivered to the customer directly from the Dell plant already collected, in racks and with the carried-out cables, services in initial installation are included in the package. The solution Dell vStart is already delivered in the USA and in the second quarter 2011 will be available in Europe.

Dell and Microsoft announced a joint strategic initiative in April, 2011: The joint strategic initiative of Dell and Microsoft calculated on three years will help customers to implement quickly technologies of virtualization and private clouds and also to manage them. Solutions in the field of management will rely on technologies Dell Virtual Integrated System, Dell Advanced Infrastructure Manager and Microsoft System Center and will provide the improved integration at physical, virtual and applied levels.

Solutions of virtualization are based on a hypervisor of Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V.
