Consolidation of diverse data in 3D models – a result of joint work of PSS and JSC Giproruda

The PSS engineering and consulting company in February, 2011 completed the next stage of the innovation project on automation of development process of the project documentation for JSC Giproruda. The project has no analogs in world practice: integration in virtual 3D - the model of a mining and processing complex of diverse data – from construction to geological, from "flat" to three-dimensional became result of work.

Existence virtual 3D - the model of a mining and processing complex will allow to simplify approval of project solutions of customers and between departments of institute, to increase quality of the performed works.

As the basic integrating solution Autodesk Navisworks was selected. The software products AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Revit, Robur and also Micromine software, the specialized solution of a 3D CAD Pit of development of Giproruda Institute and another software, used by subcontractors of institute became data sources for 3D - the model. In implementation process of the project the technique of interaction between the staff of related departments of JSC Giproruda was fulfilled, but also, the institute due to use 3D - the model had an opportunity to refuse services of third-party specialists for creation of presentation materials.

"The 3D technology - prototypings allows not only to create the video presentations, but also to use the model for review and search of project solutions. Existence "live" 3D - the model which is renewed at change of data in the systems of design should increase quality of project solutions and the issued documentation, - Konstantin Biktimirov, the head of department of a CAD of PSS company tells. - Use 3D - the model in the environment of Navisworks also allows to increase efficiency when working on reconstruction of construction objects due to combination in a unified environment of project model and existing, received by means of technology of laser scanning. Besides, use of this technology allows to exclude need of natural measurements on site".

Within cooperation between PSS company and JSC Giproruda works on implementation of the end-to-end system of automated design in production departments of institute integrating in itself used 3D - the systems of design, the system of preparation virtual 3D - the model and the system of an execution of the "flat" project documentation in the environment of AutoCAD are carried out. Cooperation of PSS and Giproruda Institute will be continued. During 2011 further development of the implemented technology is planned.
