"NIS GLONASS" will design the Uniform dispatching center for control of passenger transport in Moscow

"NIS GLONASS" will take part in design of a key and fundamental part of structure of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) of Moscow – "The uniform dispatching center for control of passenger transport" (EDTs).

Specialists of the Federal network operator will also create area control centers, to equip passenger transport of Moscow with multifunction navigation devices and security systems.

In 2010 NIS GLONASS developed the concept of ITS of Moscow which became a basis for the program of development of ITS of the capital adopted by the Government of Moscow. In January, 2011 the Federal network operator also developed the technical specifications (TS) and the feasibility statement (FS) on creation of "EDTs" and submitted them for consideration in Department of Governments of Moscow Transport.

Implementation of ITS of Moscow will allow to solve effectively a problem of traffic jams in the capital, to control and manage the most difficult transport hubs, to provide road accident prevention. It is planned that the Uniform dispatching center within ITS of Moscow will be created already by the end of 2011.

Navigation satellite systems – the most important part of creation of structure of ITS as only they allow to obtain necessary data on location of hundreds of thousands of vehicles at the same time. A technology basis of EDTs – domestic GNSS GLONASS.
