Infor purchased Lawson for $2 billion

Infor by means of the affiliated company GGC Software Holdings purchased Lawson Software. Transaction amount was $2 billion and it is at the moment closed.

Duncan Angove, the president of Infor on products, marketing and support, said that the transaction will provide to Infor access to the market of medium-sized and small enterprises at the expense of well balanced ERP solution. "We develop unique strategy, and purchase of Lawson Software will allow us to make it more effective", - he added.

Angav noted that financial software of Lawson will be integrated into a product line of Infor. It also hoped that the transaction will allow his company to strengthen competitive positions in relation to such vendors as SAP and Oracle.

The united company will be able to offer richer and deep functionality of solutions to those vertical markets where the parties were strongest to the transaction.

Here it is possible to carry the health care industries, a public sector, distribution, fashion the industry, production of products and drinks, the market of services and also process and discrete production, told Angav.

According to him, at both companies is much in common, and they will help to grow each other in the existing and new markets. Infor stated that within the transaction it will receive in addition 400 software engineers 60% more products, than at the company was last year.

Besides, it is going to reduce need of customization of products, having more carefully worked their local versions and having provided to end users simpler procedures of updates.
