The Pornolab.net porntracker is the project of the Rutracker.org torrent tracker, largest in Runet (the former Torrents.ru).

According to Kiev police (April, 2011), every day Pornolab about 150 thousand users visited. This website took 1887 the place on attendance in the world, the 93rd place in Russia and the 126th place in Ukraine. About 2 million registered users of whom third was made by Ukrainians used services of Pornolab.

History

• In April, 2011 field investigators of the Kiev department of GUMVD of Ukraine withdrew from data center all Pornolab.net servers, the largest porntracker of Runet., As reported on the website of the Kiev department of GUMVD of Ukraine, field investigators of capital management on fight against the crimes connected with human trafficking set location of the Pornolab.net servers which were located in Kiev. All of them were withdrawn and directed to examination.

According to representatives of law enforcement agencies, the data obtained during an ekpertiza will help to identify militias not only persons who created and administered the specified resource, but also users. "The torrent website provides interchange by information between users. Thus, visitors of this resource have a direct bearing on distribution of a pornography. For it they also should be punished", - it is told on the website of GUMVD of Kiev.

Concerning Pornolab.net criminal case according to Part 2 of Article 301 of the Criminal code of Ukraine ("Distribution of the video production of pornographic contents") is already brought. This article prescribes fine from 100 to 300 minimum income of citizens or restriction of freedom for a period of up to 5 years or imprisonment for the same term, with confiscation of the pornographic film and video production, means of its production and demonstration.

Representatives of Rutracker.org reported CNews^[1]that the website Pornolab will recover the work as soon as for it the new hosting provider is found. They also noted that they did not see yet the criminal case file for which, according to them, there are no bases as "on the Pornolab servers it is not stored any pornographic picture".

Distribution of pornographic materials in Ukraine is illegal according to Article 301 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (import, production, storage, sale or distribution of pornographic objects). In 2009. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "About Introduction of Amendments to Article 301 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine" within which article where responsibility for import, production, sale and distribution of a pornography is defined, is supplemented also with the word "storage".
